About the Event

The Prince of Egypt is a sweeping epic of a musical with music and lyrics by Grammy and Oscar winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Philip LaZebnik, and 10 new songs written by Schwartz, together with five of his songs from the DreamWorks Animation film. The show also features Schwartz’s Academy Award-winning song, “When You Believe.”

Journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as Ramses and Moses, two young men raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.

Cast

Moses - Emma Bridgeman

Grows into the strong and compassionate leader of the Hebrew people.

Ramses - Emi Donio

Prince of Egypt and heir to the throne who ages throughout the show. Loves their brother Moses but competes with him, often overshadowed by Moses’s winning personality. Wracked by self-doubt under their father’s high expectations as future Pharaoh. Through trials of great pain, ultimately becomes a great leader of the Egyptians. Strong tenor (sings up to G#) with well-developed lower range.

Yocheved - Elizabeth Bridgeman

Moses’s Hebrew mother. Sets their son afloat in a basket on the Nile to save him from Egyptian soldiers. Rich alto voice; sings in Hebrew and English.

Young Miriam - Abigail Mortensen

Moses’s Hebrew sibling.

Seti - Brooklyn Bridgeman

Pharaoh of Egypt. Carries themself with commanding dignity and authority. Brought Egypt back from civil war as a young ruler and still leads their army into battle. Loves their sons deeply but loves Egypt more; every action protects and preserves the country. Low baritone/bass.

Hotep - Harrison Manning

High Priest of Egypt. Pompous and self-important, yet deeply committed to the ancient gods and fearful of any challenge to them. Despises Moses and seeks to preserve the Egyptian hierarchy at all costs. Strong baritone.

Tzipporah - Fiona Weber

Midian princess who ages throughout the show. Fiery, rebellious, and full of spirit and strength; committed to her people’s freedom, her family, and eventually her love for Moses. Thrilling high belt with beautiful mix; must dance well.

Miriam - Brooklyn Bridgeman

Moses’s Hebrew sibling. Devout, unswerving, optimistic prophetess who never wavers in faith in God or in Moses as Deliverer. Strong rich belt.

Aaron - Ava Tidings

Moses’s Hebrew brother. Intellectual, sardonic, skeptical, and funny. Has made peace with life as a slave by joking about everything. Last to believe in Moses; skepticism is confirmed when labor doubles after Moses’s demand. Becomes Moses’s most loyal follower once won over. Tenor or high baritone.

Keturah - Saylor Price

One of Tzipporah’s younger sisters. Feisty and willing to fight when threatened. Good-humored, she and Leah think their older sister is a bit of a head case, and they happily welcome Moses into their tribe.

Nefertari - Emma Wilmes

Ramses’s spouse and Queen of Egypt. Imperious and haughty, keenly aware of her royal position and importance to the dynasty. Looks down on Ramses as part of an upstart family. Heart is broken by their son’s death, revealing humanity and love for Ramses. Strong rich belt, high alto.

Jethro - Emma Wilmes

High Priest of Midian and Tzipporah’s parent. Powerful, wise presence exuding joy of life, empathy, love, and buoyancy with a deep spiritual center. High baritone (sings up to G) with strong warm voice.

Leah - Amelia Michael

One of Tzipporah’s younger siblings. Feisty, good-humored, and willing to fight when threatened; happily welcomes Moses into the tribe.
